Super-Croma

SMT   PVT LTD’s Super-Croma is a pharma grade wear and corrosion resistant alloyed chromium coating deposited by the State-of-the-art physical vapour deposition (PVD) process.

SMTPL’s Super-Croma coating has good anti-sticking, anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties over other traditional hard chrome. The smooth coating surface reduces the sticking. Super-Croma shows better anti- corrosion properties as compared to the conventional hard chrome due to the dense micro-crack free structure of the coating. Super-Croma is deposited using a completely environmental friendly process in a clean vacuum chamber with no chemicals involved in process. During PVD process, coating is diffused within the surface different from electroplating process where the plating is adhered to the surface. Super-Croma, therefore, exhibits better adhesion compared to the conventional hard chrome plating. Super-Croma prevents diffusion of hydrogen shielding it from hydrogen embrittlement. Super-Croma is a better option with superior anti-sticking, anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties compared to the conventional hard chrome plating. For Tablet tooling application, coating thickness in kept around 2.0 to 3.0 microns.
