SMT-TILUB is a wear and Oxidation resistant alloy coating deposited by the State-of-the-art physical vapour deposition (PVD) process.
SMT-TILUB coating is based on a AlTiXCN nomencleature. Coating consists of a hard and tough multilayers of AlTiN followed by low friciton layers consisting of Carbon. Machining titanium alloys and stainless steels is difficult due to its high toughness and heat generation during machining. Because it usually runs at low RPMs, it’s a slow material to machine. The cutting tool absorbs the intense heat during machining, which often causes premature tool failure. The SMT-TILUB is designed for machining titanium alloys and stainless steels and is suitable for milling, drilling including deep hole and tapping. SMT-TILUB‘s low friction layer reduces the heat generation during machining. SMT-TILUB coated tools allow to do fast machining and simultaneously keeps the tool cool, which increase output, and complete the job without failure. The thickness range is 1-4 µm and can be tailored as per application
