Aluminium Titanium Nitride

SMT   PVT LTD’s ALTINUM-n is a Special application pharma grade coating provides additional wear resistant, corrosion resistant and crack free anti-sticking surface properties compared to TILUM-n. It is aluminium titanium nitride based alloy coating deposited at high temperatures by the State-of-the-art physical vapour deposition (PVD) process.
SMTPL’s ALTINUM-n has exceptional performance in tablet tooling application with additional coating hardness compared to TILUM-n coatings. ALTINUM-n performs better due to addition of aluminium to FCC TiN, which increases hardness, as well as the chemical stability of coating. Excellent hardness, superior coating-substrate adhesion, anti-sticking nature, low coefficient of friction and low residual stress levels of ALTINUM-n coating combine to resist wear during highly abrasive formulation compression process. ALTINUM-n has very low surface energy and its chemical inert nature enhances its anti-sticking nature with most formulations and surrounding environment. ALTINUM-n coating exhibit no cracks at very high loads even after prolonged usage resulting in enhancing production efficiency. Crack-free coating surface doesn’t allow picking and hence inhibits formulation sticking.  ALTINUM-n coating can be deposited on the tools with tempering temperature above 4500C. Coating thickness in kept around 2.0 microns and can be modified as per application. It is prescribed for hard to compress formulations like Ayurvedic, herbal, salts and minerals crystalline powders etc.
